4-2-4 in FC Mobile
A back four, two up front. Width comes from the wingers. This is the standard 4-2-4 entry in Manager Mode. The game tags it Full Attack, Four Strikers.
The 11 positions
- Goalkeeper (GK)
- Left back (LB)
- 2 x Centre-back (CB)
- Right back (RB)
- 2 x Central midfielder (CM)
- Left winger (LW)
- 2 x Striker (ST)
- Right winger (RW)
What 4-2-4 is good at
- Wingers hold the touchline and stretch the opposing back line, so the centre of the pitch opens up for runs.
- Two strikers occupy both centre-backs: one can hold the ball while the other runs in behind.
- Four forwards put the most attacking power on the pitch of any shape.
- A flat back four of two centre-backs and two full-backs is the standard defensive block and suits an offside trap.
Where it is weak
- No holding midfielder: only two centre-backs sit in front of the keeper, so a quick through ball splits them.
- With this many forwards the back line is exposed on the counter and the midfield can be outnumbered.

Build Up
| Setting | Value | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Speed | 3 | two wingers and a striker are built to run: get the ball to them early |
| Passing Distance | 2 | mix short and long so the front line gets balls in behind |
| Mentality | Attacking | this shape is tagged attacking |
| Positioning | Free | wingers or several number 10s can roam into gaps |
Offence
| Setting | Value | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Passing Tendency | 1 | two central midfielders: go direct rather than recycle |
| Cross Tendency | 3 | two in the box to aim at |
| Shooting Tendency | 2 | shoot when the lane is clear |
| Positioning | Free | runners find gaps |
Defence
| Setting | Value | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Pressure | 3 | high pressing suits an attacking shape, but only if your forwards have the stamina |
| Width | 1 | stay compact and force play wide |
| Aggression | 2 | raise to 3 only if the back line wins tackles |
| Back Line | Offside Trap | a flat back four can hold a high line if the centre-backs are quick; otherwise switch to Cover |
Best cards for each position
- Left back (LB): look for Sliding Tackle, Interceptions, Standing Tackle
- 2 x Centre-back (CB): look for Standing Tackle, Def. Awareness, Interceptions
- Right back (RB): look for Sliding Tackle, Interceptions, Standing Tackle
- 2 x Central midfielder (CM): look for Short Passing, Ball Control, Vision
- Left winger (LW): look for Dribbling, Ball Control, Finishing

Overall it needs fast wingers who can dribble, strikers who finish and hold the ball.
