5-3-2 in FC Mobile
A back five with wing-backs, two up front. Narrow: the full-backs give all the width. This is the standard 5-3-2 entry in Manager Mode. The game tags it Five Defenders.
The 11 positions
- Goalkeeper (GK)
- Left wing-back (LWB)
- 3 x Centre-back (CB)
- Right wing-back (RWB)
- 3 x Central midfielder (CM)
- 2 x Striker (ST)
What 5-3-2 is good at
- Three centre-backs cover the box and the gaps between them, so crosses and long balls rarely find a free runner.
- A back five (three centre-backs plus two wing-backs) is the hardest line to get behind, and it lets you hold a lead.
- Three central midfielders give an even spread across the middle and win most second balls.
- Wing-backs provide the width up and down the flank while the back three stays tight in the middle.
- Two strikers occupy both centre-backs: one can hold the ball while the other runs in behind.
Where it is weak
- Only three at the back leaves the flanks to the wide midfielders or wing-backs; if they are caught up the pitch, the outside centre-backs get dragged wide.
- Five defenders means fewer players forward, so the front line can be starved of service.
- Nobody is dedicated to shielding the back line, so counters run straight at the centre-backs.

Build Up
| Setting | Value | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Speed | 2 | no pace-first front line to feed: steady tempo |
| Passing Distance | 2 | mix short and long so the front line gets balls in behind |
| Mentality | Defensive | a defensive tag or a back five: protect it |
| Positioning | Organised | keep the shape; the lanes are already set |
Offence
| Setting | Value | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Passing Tendency | 1 | three central midfielders: go direct rather than recycle |
| Cross Tendency | 1 | no wingers or wide midfielders in this shape |
| Shooting Tendency | 2 | shoot when the lane is clear |
| Positioning | Organised | stick to lanes for cleaner counters |
Defence
| Setting | Value | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Pressure | 1 | sit off and counter |
| Width | 1 | stay compact and force play wide |
| Aggression | 2 | with five at the back, keep it at 2 and let the spare man cover |
| Back Line | Cover | an odd-numbered back line does not play offside well: stay deep |
Best cards for each position
- Left wing-back (LWB): look for Interceptions, Crossing, Sliding Tackle
- 3 x Centre-back (CB): look for Standing Tackle, Def. Awareness, Interceptions
- Right wing-back (RWB): look for Interceptions, Crossing, Sliding Tackle
- 3 x Central midfielder (CM): look for Short Passing, Ball Control, Vision
- 2 x Striker (ST): look for Finishing, Positioning, Ball Control
Overall it needs strikers who finish and hold the ball.
